What is Dropshipping?

Dropshipping is a business model that enables online resellers to list and sell products from one or more suppliers without holding any physical stock themselves. It also allows suppliers to expand their sales channel at no cost by having a network of dropshippers promoting and selling their products for them. Dropshipping is a win-win business model with virtually zero risk for both resellers and suppliers.

Resellers who operate a dropship business can list as many products as they want and from as many suppliers as they want without having to pay for stock up front. Instead when a consumer purchases a product the dropshipper receives payment directly and then places the order with the supplier at the wholesale price, leaving the dropshipper with nice profit margin. The supplier then ships the product directly to the consumer who is none the wiser.

Dropshipping is big business with some successful dropshippers making millions each year by simply listing products they don’t own or stock on their website or ecommerce marketplaces.
